Summer activities for children.


                 A Family Watercolour Class

Saturday 3rd August 10.30 am - 12.30 pm

BE INSPIRED as you learn with artist and illustrator, Ian Mitchell.


BE EXPERIMENTAL as you use washes and practice drawing into the colour with a brush. 
BE EXCITED as you have fun with watercolour to create images.

This Watercolour session is for children and those parents wishing to take part.

£10 per person

Children's Activities - Week One

                   Cost - £10 per child per session.   
                       Time - 10.30 am - 12.30 pm

                          Tuesday 13th August   -  Create in Mod-roc

BE HANDS ON as you learn how to form a recognizable object using Mod-Roc.
BE CREATIVE as you choose how to decorate your sculpted form.
BE EXCITED as you see the miniature welly boot take shape.

The finished welly makes a great pencil pot.




Wednesday 14th  August  - Make a felt Picture


BE EXCITED as you choose from a selection of beautiful merino wool.
BE EXPERIMENTAL as you learn about the traditional craft of felting,by wetting, rubbing and rolling wool.
BE CREATIVE as you add your own design ideas and practise new techniques to build an attractive picture.


Thursday 15th August - Create a Circus Tile 


BE INSPIRED as you develop your ideas based on the Big Top and Circus Acts.
BE EXPERIMENTAL as you practise using tools and learn new techniques,rolling a flat tile and creating shapes and interesting textures.
BE EXCITED as you develop your ideas in relief onto clay.




Friday 16th August - Watercolour Painting

This session is just for children.

BE EXCITED as you experience the magic of watercolour.
BE EXPERIMENTAL as you mix colours, apply washes.
BE INSPIRED as you use colours and create your own images, using some of the techniques you've practiced..





WEEK 2

MONDAY 20TH AUGUST - Make a King or Queen

BE INSPIRED by kings and Queens 
BE EXPERIMENTAL as you practice using tools and learn to make a thumb pot.
BE EXCITED as you develop your ideas in form, shape and texture onto clay.





TUESDAY 21ST AUGUST - Create a Rock Pool - multi-media picture.

BE INSPIRED as you take a look at what lies in rock pools.
BE IMAGINATIVE as you combine the objects and creatures you see to build your own picture.
BE EXPERIMENTAL with pastels, paint, print and collage to create this summery image. 




WEDNESDAY 22ND AUGUST - Felt Pebbles

BE INSPIRED- as you choose the colours of wool for your pebble shape.
EXPLORE the craft of wet felting as you learn how to make a beautiful felted object.
BE CREATIVE as you learn how to make interesting patterns with the coloured wool.
BE EXCITED - as you watch the pebbles take shape and you create an attractive pebble stack or paper weight.
