Talented Leicester Artists

Take this opportunity to view the varied work of a talented group of Leicester artists in their annual exhibition at West End gallery until May 5th, 2012 . Painting, Print, Photography, Ceramics and Sculpture are all represented in this vibrant showcase. Well worth a visit!

Children's Easter Workshops - Great fun!

A number of children from 4 to 14 years, joined us from all over Leicestershire for the two morning workshops over the Easter holidays. View their varied T-shirt designs and lovely felted vessels.

The Children selected from oil pastel, felt pen, collage and photocopied pictures to create the images for their designs. Once complete, these where scanned and printed onto the
t- shirts provided. All the individual designs were mounted in card frames for the children to take away with them.

Well done to you all!

At the vessel workshop, Alison Linnell of Feltings, guided the children through the magical stages of felt making.  First they layered the coloured wool, soaping, wetting and rubbing it to change the 2D shape in front of them into a 3D form. So busy we all were, we  hardly noticed the wintry weather (snow) outside! Thank you Alison, another lovely session!

Beautiful!

Urban Art In The Gallery

Peter Smith and Leigh Drummond have combined their creative skills to bring Street Art into the gallery.

 The concrete wall.
Textured pavement-like panels (by P Smith) are suspended in the
gallery space and worked on with graffiti-style images (by L Drummond ).

This installation explores decay and the changing face of the man-made environment.
